A Doctor of Chiropractor (DC), chiropractic doctor, or chiropractor’s physician is an otherwise qualified medical professional that is trained to treat various disorders of the nervous and musculoskeletal systems. Chiropractors treat both children and adults of all ages.
Chiropractors are trained in the treatment of many different types of disorders. The following are just some of the more common ones.
Back to Basics: What is a Chiropractor?
Headaches: Many times, a chiropractor’s hands and elbows may be involved with the treatment of headaches. It is very common for a chiropractor to focus on the spine in helping to determine a patient’s problem with headaches and other related ailments. If a patient has difficulty in breathing, a chiropractor may often use their hand and elbow to help to control the airway and help to relax the patient.
Spine Pain: Many times, a chiropractor will have an idea of what is wrong with the spine by the examination that they perform. The examination may involve x-rays, spinal exams, and other diagnostic procedures. In addition to this, a chiropractor may also use their hand and elbow to help manipulate the spine.
Back Pain: Many times, a chiropractor is able to diagnose a problem with the back simply by the examination and x-rays that they have performed. There are many common problems with the spine that are easily fixed with proper therapy and manipulation. For example, chiropractors often diagnose back pain by performing spinal exams and examining the back through the use of specialized tools.
